“Hodgepodge”

I am very seldom at a loss for words. That is not the case for the last few days. I sat in front of my laptop for hours trying to decide which direction I wanted my post to go. I have typed, erased and typed again. I just could not decide what the topic would be after watching the CATS opener Saturday night.

I have decided to put all my thoughts into this post, which I will label as “Hodgepodge” from Saturday night.

I have not ridden roller coasters in years, but yet I will always remember my days of riding the “Beast” at Kings Island. The anticipation of getting on the wooden coaster, the anticipation of the first hill, the exhilaration of my stomach dropping as the monster dropped on the first hill and then the end where I exited the ride returning to reality. That sums up my emotions from the game on Saturday night.

During a conversation with Cameron one night I mentioned, “The night of the Wisconsin loss was one of the worst nights of my life.” Cameron responded by saying, “Now Tina, was that really one of your worst nights ever?” I have often thought of that conversation. The sun came up on Sunday and there will be another kick off on Saturday. Sometimes we as fans need to put things in perspective.

The players are young men. They follow by the example of their leaders. They provide us with entertainment throughout the season. Sure, they will make mistakes but yet there will be moments of glory. To criticize their performance on social media is a sign of immaturity on the part of the fan. The majority of fans who choose to do so have never worn the cleats, neither are they brave enough to say so to one’s face. If you find yourself doing this, I suggest taking a long look in the mirror and possibly reevaluating your life.

For those fans calling for the firing of Mark Stoops I have a few questions.
Do you realize it is the first game of the year?
           Who in the world do you think is going to take his place?
                             (please don’t answer Saban)
           Did you really think we were going to contend for an SEC title?

*************************************************************************************************

It is now time to look forward to week #2. The CATS will be traveling to the “Swamp” in Gainesville in hopes of ending that streak that has been around too long.

*************************************************************************************************

Put on your blue gear, pull up a chair, turn up the volume. I truly think something special could happen.

*************************************************************************************************
As for last weeks game…….It is time to………

let it go
