Kentucky has been home to so many sports moments and traditions. Horse Racing and Basketball call Kentucky home, and they have every right to.
One sport that has also has a strangely strong romance with our state has been the art of professional wrestling. No matter the reception to it, it’s a fact that the Midwest and the South have always had the most passionate fans in the world when it comes to wrestling.
This week to start this series off, we take a look at a night that featured two of the biggest names in the history of the WWE, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock, as they battled for the WWE Championship inside a roaring Rupp Arena in November of 1998.
One interesting thing that caught my eye was at the 3:12 mark, when a sign in the crowd that reads “All Sports 3:16” is seen in the front row. It belonged to the staff at local sporting goods store All Sports which is still in business at the Fayette Mall.
