Roger Goodell’s tenure as NFL Commissioner has had more than its fair share of turbulence, that’s an understatement. We’ve seen Bountygate, Deflategate, CTE blunders and more. The reception he is set to receive when he makes his appearance back in Foxborough for the season opener will no doubt be venomous as well.
At the NFL Draft he is always lustily booed. This was the case even when the draft was a fixture in New York City. Things haven’t changed since they started alternating the host cities starting with Chicago in 2015 and 2017 and definitely not this year in Philadelphia.
With Dallas being one of the favorites to host the 2018 NFL Draft, Goodell may have bought himself a little bit of favor if the draft is indeed in Cowboys country next spring.
Jason Witten, like all of Cowboys Nation, was loving it.
Absolutely loved it @88DrewPearson!! Let's go!!

According to legendary Cowboys wide receiver Drew Pearson, Goodell encouraged him to get the Philly crowd worked up.
This makes perfect sense. Eagles fans put this sort of a scenario on a tee for Goodell and Pearson. Even the Commish can see how easily trollable they are.
They’ve been toiling futilely in the NFC East, the most competitive division in football, for decades. Of the 51 Super Bowls that have been played, the NFC East has won 12 (Cowboys 5, Giants 4, Redskins 3) of them. That’s good for 23.5%, more than any other division in the NFL and the Eagles haven’t contributed anything to the cumulative success of the NFC East.
If the 2018 NFL Draft is indeed in Big D, Roger Goodell may have curried a little favor among Cowboys fans. Even if it isn’t, he still, in spite of all his flaws, knows a good troll moment when he sees one.
