“Fore To Forty” …. Golf Tournament Celebrating 40th Anniversary of 1978 Championship

Have you ever wanted to spend a day with a former NCAA basketball champion, an ex-NBA player and a University of Kentucky All-American?  Or how about with the Most Outstanding Player from an NCAA Championship game?  If so, we’ve got a chance of a lifetime for you on Friday, September 15, 2017.

Former UK All-American, Kyle Macy, is hosting the “Fore To Forty” Golf Tournament (also known at the KIDS MATTER Golf Tournament in past years) for the Child Care Council of Kentucky at the University Club of Kentucky.  Kyle hosts the KIDS MATTER Golf Tournament each year and this year’s theme “Fore To Forty” is a celebration of the 40 year anniversary to the kickoff of the 1978 championship run.  Kyle has agreed to bring along several of his friends for this year’s event and celebration.

The Child Care Council of Kentucky is giving teams an opportunity this year to play with the likes of Kyle Macy, Jack “Goose” Givens, Jay Shidler, Rick Robey and other former UK greats (some from other sports).  Kyle and many of his former teammates will be spending the day at our event and just maybe hanging out with you and your team.  Here’s what you need to know.

Sign up is easy and convenient.  You can register online or by downloading a hard copy flier and mailing it to the Child Care Council of Kentucky office (ATTN:  Golf Tournament, 1390 Olivia Lane, Lexington, KY 40511).

To be eligible to play with a former player, you must have your team registered by Tuesday, August 15.  Once you are registered, you then become eligible to make an extra donation to play with Kyle or one of his former teammates (or other UK greats).

On Wednesday, August 16,  the Child Care Council of Kentucky will reveal the names of former players and will email all participating registered teams the list of players.  Teams will have an opportunity to place a bid (make an extra donation) on one or more players to play with in the event.  Bidding will be open until Thursday, August 31.  Teams can bid on as many players as they wish.  All bids are private.

Once all bids are in, the Child Care Council of Kentucky will notify winning teams on Friday, September 1 of the player they will be golfing with at our event.

I hope you will consider supporting our “Fore To Forty” event this year.  The Child Care Council of Kentucky is a 501 (c)(3) and all donations made to the agency are tax deductible.

This year’s tournament is sponsored by Casey Bright, AAMS, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones.

In addition to the golf and hanging out with former UK greats, you and your team will also experience some of the best local food that Lexington has to offer AND IT’S FREE!

Lyle’s BBQ will be providing the lunch.  Lyle’s is locally owned with a location on Clays Mill Road in the Stonewall Shopping Center.

Texas Roadhouse will bring the dinner and is also locally owned and located in the Beaumont Center.

Top it all off with Crank and Boom Ice Cream.  C&B is locally owned and located off Manchester St.

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT OUR EVENT.  TEAMS WILL GO QUICKLY, SIGN UP TODAY!
