Brandon Wharton II Interview

Brandon Wharton II is a freshman at Lighthouse Christian School in Antioch, Tennessee where he plays the quarterback position. Wharton has recently started to garner some interest from Division 1 schools, including the University of Kentucky who recently extended an invitation for him to attend the UK Spring Game. Brandon also has an athletic background  as his father, Brandon Wharton  played college basketball for the University of Tennessee where he had a successful college career. I have a strong feeling you will see this young man’s name become bigger and better known in the next few years, and the offers will start coming in for him.

Mr. Wharton is very early in his recruitment but he was kind enough to do a quick Q&A with me where he shares the top schools he is interested in. Everyone can show Brandon the love of the Big Blue Nation on Twitter by clicking the young mans name here Brandon Wharton II.  As always, everyone enjoy!

DC: With 3 years left of high school football remaining, have you thought about your recruitment much and, if so, where are you at in your recruitment?

Brandon: I am really just now starting the process of the recruiting process. I have been invited to a few camps and really trying to decide which ones to attend

DC: Your dad played college basketball at the University of Tennessee, so what led to you focusing on football?

Brandon: I would consider myself a multi sport athlete right now. I wouldn’t say I am focusing on just football as I will be playing a lot of basketball this year

DC: Speaking of your dad playing at Tennessee and you growing up in Tennessee, would you call the Volunteers your dream school or are you open to going elsewhere?

Brandon: I really love Tennessee but I am open to going anywhere pretty much

DC: You were recently invited to attend the University of Kentucky Spring Game.  What has that meant to you?

Brandon: It is amazing! To receive interest from an SEC school is really great.

DC: I know it’s early and schools can not really offer scholarships to you at this time, but do you have a list of schools you are most interested in at this time?

Brandon: I have three schools at the top of my list right now and that is Tennessee who have  shown some interest, Kentucky who just invited me to attend the Spring game, and Memphis who just visited with me at my school
