Jalen Holston Interview

Today I was able to speak with Jalen Holston who is from Stockbridge, Georgia where he is a 5’11” running back. Weighing 200 pounds already, he has the build that will help him be better prepared for the next level. Jalen already has scholarship offers from such schools as Florida, Mississippi State, Mizzouri, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Many other programs are showing major interest including Georgia and our own Kentucky Wildcats who had Jalen in for a visit on Junior day.

247 Sports has Jalen rated as a 3* recruit coming in as the 59th rated running back in the class and the 89th rated recruit overall in the state of Georgia. 247 Sports also has his 40 time listed at 4.56 seconds which with his size would suggests he is more of a power back who will run over the defender to pick up the tough yardage needed in the trenches. With the offers Jalen already has from big time programs like Florida and after watching some game tape on him I truly believe his ranking and stock will be climbing in a very short time. I would expect to see an offer from Kentucky extended very soon, and if that happens I think the Cats will become a major player in his recruitment.

First off I would like to thank Jalen for his time today and suggest the Big Blue Nation show the young man some love on Twitter and give him a follow by clicking the link with his name here, Jalen Holston. Enjoy the Q&A below Big Blue Nation!

DC: Where do you currently stand in your recruitment Jalen?

Jalen: Right now I am just enjoying my recruitment, I really don’t have a list of favorites or anything at this time

DC: Which schools are showing you the most interest at this point in your recruitment?

Jalen: Virginia, Florida, Missouri, and Virginia Tech are really recruiting me the hardest right now

DC: Do you plan on attending any camps this year and if so, where?

Jalen: Yes sir, I will be attending camps at Missouri, Virginia Tech, and Duke

DC: Kentucky has a loaded backfield in this class already with commitments from guys like Mike Warren, and Bryant Koback. Does that effect your recruitment with Kentucky at all?

Jalen: No sir, not at all. I love completion, and it allows the guy who works the hardest to come out on top.

DC: Have you set a time frame for when you will cut down your list of possible schools or an announcement date?

Jalen: I will be cutting down my list of schools to a top 5 by the summer, and want to commit to a school around the 4th of July
