Kudos to Cambridge Place in Lexington for honoring Dallas Owens Jr., one of the starts on UK’s dynamic 1976 and 1977 teams. He developed a brain tumor and dies at age 56 in 2013. His parents — Dallas and Lillie — now reside at Cambridge Place.
Dick Gabriel helped put together a special video presentation honoring the former UK player. Among those who came to the celebration were Derrick Ramsey and Dave Hopewell, Owens’ former teammates. Ramsey played quarterback and Hopewell center. Tim Biggs, a trainer for that team, now works at Cambridge Place.
