Only at Kentucky could 1,053 attend a women’s basketball clinic. The clinic used to draw 250. Now it is so big it has been moved to Rupp Arena and women lined up more than five hours early to get in even though they were pre-registered.
Because of the move to Rupp Arena, the normal lunch was not served. Instead, only snacks were provided.
However, a $10,000 donation to the Markey Cancer Center was made with the part of the registration fee that normally would have gone for lunch and clinic participants seemed pleased with that.
“I want to thank you for a record crowd of 1,053 attendees at this year’s Women’s Clinic. You people are crazy. Biggest women’s clinic in the world,” John Calipari posted on Twitter.
He’s probably right, too.
