Taveion Hollingsworth was named Kentucky Mr. Basketball on Tuesday evening. There were cheers, jeers, and people left wondering if he was really the right choice.
The answer to that? Yes. He absolutely was. Without a doubt.
Taveion played in arguably the toughest Region in all of Kentucky, twice named 11th Region Player of the Year. Night after night, for four years, defeating some of the toughest schedules you could imagine. He started every single game since his Freshman year. He carried his team to a Sweet 16 Championship in 2016 and was crowned MVP. According to Coach Jonathan Moore, “all this man does is win these trophies!” He’s not lying.

The future Hilltopper has nowhere to go but up. Without a doubt, the very best that Kentucky has produced this year, with the finest resume I’ve seen in quite some time.
