UK Football’s Salute to Veterans Game on Saturday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky football will hold its Salute to Veterans game on Saturday when the Wildcats host Ole Miss at 4 p.m. The game serves as the kickoff of Lexington’s Week of Valor in coordination with Veterans Resources United of Central and Eastern Kentucky (VRUCK).

Salute to Veterans game-day activities will include a game-ball delivery by the Army Golden Knights parachute team. Jimmy Rose – the Marine Corps veteran from Pineville, Kentucky, who finished third on America’s Got Talent in 2013 – will perform the national anthem.

Veterans of the United States Armed Forces will be honored at the game. Veterans are eligible to receive two complimentary tickets to the game by presenting valid identification, such as a card issued by the Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs or a driver’s license with veteran’s status annotated.

Tickets for veterans will be available at the Joe Craft Center ticket office beginning Tuesday, Oct. 31 and throughout game week from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. daily. Tickets can also be picked up on game day beginning at noon at the Kroger Field ticket office, located between gates 9 and 10.

Lexington’s Week of Valor features a series of events highlighting the contributions of Central Kentucky’s veterans. It begins with the Salute to Veterans at Kroger Field and culminates with the 2017 Lexington Veterans Day Parade downtown on Saturday, Nov. 11.

The Wildcats enter Saturday’s game vs. Ole Miss with a record of 6-2 after clinching bowl eligibility for the second year in a row with a thrilling 29-26 win over Tennessee last weekend. Tickets for the game are available at UKFootballTix.com.
