On December 18, “Out Of The Blue” will be shown publicly for the first and only time before Christmas Day. This sneak preview will be available to only sixty people at Winchell’s Restaurant and Sports Bar in their banquet room. Only fifty tickets will be sold with the remaining 10 seats going to the production team and documentary sponsors.
“Out of the Blue” was created by the same production team that brought you “The Team” in 2016, the story of the 1996 National Championship Wildcats. “The Team” has received rave reviews from fans across the country, but the accolades didn’t end there; it was named “Best Sports Special” in the Kentucky Associated Press Awards.
Tickets are available for purchase for $25 each (limit of 4/person) and include dinner, the special showing of “Out of the Blue”, a free DVD of “The Team”, and access to a Q&A session with former players from the 1998 team plus the film’s Director/Producer, Dick Gabriel, Cinematographer/Producer, Jason Epperson, and Executive Producer, Cameron Mills. Tickets may be purchased here.
Mills explained the reasons for making this sneak preview available:
“For last year’s documentary, we had a contractual agreement with television distributors that we would not show “The Team” before it had aired on Christmas Day. We wanted to get the word out about “Out of the Blue” this year, so with the permission of the TV distributors, we decided to offer this special showing for a limited number of people and benefit a worthwhile organization at the same time.”
The dinner will be at 6:30 with the premiere of “Out of the Blue” starting at 7:05 pm. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Kentucky Special Needs Adoption Program/Thursday’s Child.
Business casual attire is requested.
