The Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl was played nearly one week ago and Kentucky’s next game will kick off a little more than eight months from now. Yet that still hasn’t quieted the buzz and fallout from the bizarre course of events that occurred at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

Benny Snell’s ejection from the game is one of the most head scratching, puzzling things anyone has ever seen.

Today, Kentucky Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart tweeted out his thoughts on the situation.

Barnhart intimated that he originally planned to let all of the drama surrounding the game run its course. The fact that it hadn’t died down and instead had led to questions about Snell’s character caused him to reverse course, and basically say enough is enough.

He doesn’t prominently put himself in the middle of things like some A.D.’s. That doesn’t by any means suggest that he doesn’t have player’s backs and isn’t clued in to every aspect of his program.
