The NBA Playoffs are here and for those of us who love the NBA it’s the time of year we’ve been looking forward to. For the casual fans, it’s the time that they start to trickle in with more tuning in with each progressing round.

For Philadelphia native, and Sixers fan, Kevin Hart it’s an opportunity for him to repeat NBA playoff celebrity history.

Hard to believe that it’s been a quarter of a century since Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller and New York Knicks superfan Spike Lee began their epic exchanges.

The two teams met six times from 1993-2000 with the only thing exceeding the rivalry on the court being Miller and Lee’s vitriol spewing in and around the flow of the game.

Philadelphia has been trusting the process for quite some time. They are finally seeing it all bear fruit. They went 52-30, closed out the regular season on a 16-game winning streak and clinched the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference. They opened the post season by racing past the Miami Heat in game one.

It took Dwyane Wade turning back the clock to prevent Philadelphia from going up 2-0 in the series.

According to Wade, Hart was a key catalyst in his vintage game. According to Hart, this is just the beginning of their beef.

Game three is tonight in Miami and I hope we get seven full games of this.

The timing is perfect. The Knicks and Pacers rivalry jumped off after Spike Lee had gotten really big. He had already been Mars Blackmon in the Nike commercials and directed Do the Right Thing, She’s Gotta Have It and Malcolm X.

The same is true of Hart. He’s everywhere right now. He’s been in Ride Along, sold out NFL venues with his stand up act and is promoting Night School with Tiffany Haddish as we speak.

The Sixers are young and coming into their own together with what appears to be a bright, promising future for several years to come.

D-Wade may not be the player going back and forth with Hart each and every time, but if the Sixers are consistent playoff participants going forward you already know Kevin will be jawing with somebody and it’s gonna be hilarious.
