Kentucky NBA Summer League Through July 11th

By Michele Brown
Vegas Summer League continues as they have now moved to the “playoff” portion of the schedule.   Four of the former Cats that were in action had impressive outings.
Aaron Harrison had a 12-point, 6 rebound outing for the Wizards while being a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.  The BBN was treated to a trip down memory lane with this beauty by Aaron:

Shai Gilgeous-Alexanders continues to make the game look ridiculously simple, scoring 17 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and adding 6 assists and 3 steals to a strong stat line.  While there are abundant highlights of SGA’s stellar play, perhaps just as entertaining was his appearance on “The Starters” a couple of nights ago.  He had an air of confidence and showed his sense of humor as well.

Alex Poythress had his best outing thus far with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the Pacers.  It’s great to see Poy doing so well and hopefully, that will translate to a great NBA season this year.

Perhaps the most exciting performance of the night belonged to Wenyen Gabriel.  Not being picked in the 2018 NBA Draft left Gabriel with a big hill to climb to get signed with a team for the regular season.   After having scored a total of 15 points in his first 6 games, Wednesday night was a bit of a breakthrough for Wenyen as he scored 15 points on 5/6 shooting (2/3 from 3-point range).  He also added 3 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block to his stat line.  It’s exciting that Gabriel got his own highlight video tonight:
