Kentucky in the NBA Summer League – Through July 12

By Michele Brown
Thursday’s Summer League Playoffs schedule had the potential to showcase 8 former Wildcats.   Miami gave Bam Adebayo the night off, but after defeating New Orleans, the Magic advanced to round 2 of the playoffs so Bam will likely play again before the League concludes play.
One of the best performers in Summer League, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, was given the night off.   It’s also Shai’s 20th birthday and he has plans for celebrating, albeit rather low-key plans:

Another consistent performer this summer has been Dakari Johnson and he was also given the night off.  But, in what some may consider a surprise, Hamidou Diallo was the leading scorer for the Thunder tonight with 14 points.  OKC fans are beginning to appreciate Hami’s athleticism and see a bright future for him:

Briscoe and Teague were also given the night off, but Derek Willis did the most he could with his 4 minutes of playing time, pulling in 4 rebounds.  Meanwhile, Kevin Knox kept doing Kevin Knox things, scoring 15 points, pulling down 4 rebounds and added 3 assists to his steady line of stats.
