Kentucky in the NBA Summer League – July 15

By Michele Brown
The Summer League playoffs just wrapped up the quarterfinals and with that, only one former Wildcat remains with the hopes of playing again:  Portland’s Archie Goodwin.  Entering the Summer League needing only 18 points to become the all-time top scorer in league history, Goodwin had an excellent outing on Sunday.  Scoring 13 points in 13 minutes plus getting 3 boards, 1 assist, and 2 steals, Archie’s point total for the season reached 23, surpassing the old record with ease.

The only other former Cat to play on Sunday was Marquis Teague.   With the Raptors falling to Cleveland, they were eliminated from the playoffs.  Teague scored 3 points, had 5 rebounds, and 5 assists to end his somewhat tepid summer season.

I’ll be posting a story tomorrow recapping the Cats’ performances in the Summer League.   I hope you’ll check it out.
