In terms of talent, reputation within the conference, expectations for 2018 and potential at the next level this is the most star-studded SEC Media Days trio of the Mark Stoops era.
Allen is coming off of a solid 66 tackle season (10.5 TFL) and also added seven sacks and an interception. He’s not resting on his laurels at all and has positioned himself to be a first round pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
Conrad can do it all. He’s equally adept in the running game or the passing game. He caught 16 passes for 286 yards and four touchdowns last season. He just missed out on having even more TDs because lot of his catches set the Cats up right at the goal line. A foot injury limited him to only seven games last season so his numbers will be even higher in 2018. No matter who wins the quarterback job, they would benefit greatly by looking in his direction early and often.
Snell has forged quite a career for himself in just two seasons and still has us wondering a little bit about what might have been. Remember, he didn’t see any action in his first two games as a freshman. Imagine if he had tallied 50 or 60 yards in those games. His totals would be all the more impressive. In spite of that he’s still poised to make a run at the top two spots in UK football rushing history, the spots that Sonny Collins and Moe Williams have called home for decades. Rarefied air indeed.
Talkin’ season is here, SEC Media Days have finally arrived, kickoff will be here in a flash.
