Helpful Tips For A More Enjoyable Football Season

It’s finally here!  On the eve of the beginning of the 2018 football season,  you can feel the excitement building.  With that in mind, I’ve compiled a list of helpful tips to enjoy the season to the fullest.

Do get excited!  It’s a new season, a fresh start, and everything is possible.

Don’t have a meltdown over the first bad play.  It’s four quarters and a long season.  Patience is your friend.

Do take advantage of the ways to reduce costs for attending a game.  Don’t want to pay a premium for parking near the stadium?  Then take advantage of the LexTran Game Day Shuttle.  For $1 per person each way, it’s a great value and you also get to avoid the traffic issues.  Worried about concession prices?  Just spend $35 at Kroger the week before the game and your receipt will have a free admission to the Kroger Tailgate Experience where free food and beverages will be offered.   For a complete list of Game Day information, just click here.

Don’t forget about the clear bag policy.  It will make your entry to the stadium much easier if you follow the restrictions.  You can get into the stadium using the express entry if you don’t carry any bags.

Do enjoy the free pre-game concerts.  The fans vote on who performs and it’s always a great way to spend time with other members of the BBN while you wait for the game to start.

Don’t miss the Cat Walk.  This is a great experience for fans and players.  Tomorrow’s Cat Walk is scheduled for 1:15 pm and it’s your opportunity to cheer on the Cats as they make their way to the training center to get ready for the game.  The UK Marching Band, cheerleaders and dance team will be on hand to keep the crowd noise at a high level.

Do be respectful of other fans in attendance.  A little patience and a smile will go a long way in making everyone’s day better.

Don’t forget:  in the end, this is just football!  These are kids playing a game and in spite of a win-at-all-costs mentality we see at other programs, there are far more important things in life.  Just ask Josh Paschal and John Schlarman.

Do be loud and proud of our Boys in Blue!  Enthusiastic fans can make a difference to the team.  It keeps them pumped up and inspires them to work even harder.

Do remember:  we are the BBN, the best fan base in the country!  Let’s remind everyone else why they can only wish their fan bases were as strong and loyal as the BBN is.

Enjoy the ride!
