“I don’t know what to do with myself now that Kentucky Football is good.”
“I can’t believe this is real life.”
“Can you believe what we are watching?”
“I usually just watch one half and then go back to the tailgate.”
These were all quotes I heard from members of Big Blue Nation in my section at the Kentucky verse South Carolina game. Grown men just looking at the score in disbelief and running their hands through their hair sheepishly. I can relate. I used to say similar things during the Cubs’ run in 2016. Our motto of “There’s always next year,” became null and void. The Cubs were good.
Well, guess what, BBN? The Kentucky Wildcats are ranked #13 in the nation, and THEY ARE GOOD. Their “next year” is here. Losing streaks demolished. Kroger Field sold-out. Electric crowds. Heisman Trophy candidates. Yeah, the Wildcats are good.
Fans need to sit back, enjoy this, and live in the moment. Don’t question what is happening. Be happy it is happening.
Don’t look ahead. Don’t look back. Be present for every part of this ride.
