LEXINGTON, Ky. – The women of Big Blue Nation will get a double dose of Kentucky men’s basketball on Big Blue Madness weekend with the addition of the John Calipari Women’s Clinic on Oct. 13.
Two days after the Wildcats open the season with Big Blue Madness, females of all ages* will be invited to take a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the program with the always-popular Women’s Clinic.
This year’s Women’s Clinic, presented by Allsports, will return to Rupp Arena. The 11th annual clinic will take place from 3-6 p.m.
Registration is now open. The cost will be $160 for those who want a signed souvenir basketball and $110 without the ball. Interested attendees are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible due to limited spots available. The past eight clinics sold out.
The Women’s Clinic is designed for females with all levels of basketball knowledge and experience and offers an exclusive inside look at the Kentucky men’s basketball program.
Each participant will be guaranteed a small group picture with the entire team as well as an opportunity to take a photo with Coach Calipari and his wife, Ellen. Participants will be able to download their picture with the team for free for digital or print use after the clinic.
Always one of the highlights of the clinic, participants will have the opportunity to purchase one signed panel basketball during online registration. That ball is included in the $160 price option. Additional balls will not be for sale at the clinic. The only item that will be guaranteed to be signed by UK personnel is the basketball purchased during registration.
Clinic attendees will be allowed to bring one additional item to be signed by Coach Calipari only during registration.
Registration will be from 12:30-3 p.m. Participants should enter the main gates of Rupp Arena off High Street for check-in.
Starting at 12:30 p.m., local vendors will be set up inside Rupp Arena to offer attendees a chance to purchase clothes, gear, local items, etc. Interested vendors should contact TJ Beisner with UK Sports & Campus Marketing at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Food will be available – for free – during registration from 12:30-3 p.m.
Parking is also free and will be available in the High Street lot. Entrance to the parking lot is through Gate 1. Attendees must park in a legal parking spot.
Throughout the designated check-in time, attendees can enjoy a self-guided tour of Rupp Arena, including the UK men’s basketball locker room. Men’s basketball staff members will be stationed throughout the facility for directions and questions. Also during registration and the clinic, concession stands will be open to purchase food and beverages.
Following check-in, the clinic will begin at 3 p.m. with the introduction of the 2019-20 UK men’s basketball team. Also included are scheduled presentations by staff and players on the inner workings of the program, as well as a Q & A with Calipari, UK coaches and staff members.
Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable attire (athletic shoes) and participate in activities and presentations at their own risk.
This clinic is open to women only. Prospect-age females (currently in grades 7-12, junior college or prep school) are not permitted to register for or attend the clinic, per NCAA rules.
Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive a confirmation email with an itinerary. You will receive reminder emails with additional details of the event.
