Kentucky Football will be returning to game action two days earlier than expected, folks. The University of Kentucky announced this afternoon that the matchup at home against Eastern Michigan that was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5, has now been moved to Thursday, Sept. 3.
Here is the official announcement that UK sent out via Twitter:
The game, as it says in the tweet, will be on the SEC Network that night, although an exact time is yet to be established. The Kentucky Derby was also scheduled to be Sept. 5, so moving the game would allow Kentuckians full focus on each. This will also be the first Thursday night game since Kentucky faced off against Auburn at home in 2015, a game in which they lost, so Kentucky gets a chance to get back on a winning streak for non-Saturday football games.
