Linebacker Xavier Peters is leaving the Kentucky program, multiple media reports confirm.
Peters transferred to Kentucky last season from Florida State, but struggled to see the field as he only played in four games and registered just one tackle. The linebacker was a four-star and top-10 recruit in the state of Ohio and was targeted by UK out of high school before choosing the Seminoles. After a few years at Florida State, Peters transferred to UK, but will now after one year leave the program.
According to a JuCo scouting account on Twitter, Peters will transfer to Garden City Junior College, a program known for it’s appearances on Netflix’s “Last Chance U.” Here is the tweet:

This move is not entirely surprising knowing Peters was falling on the depth chart as Kentucky is absolutely loaded at the linebacker position. Also, this brings Mark Stoops down to the 85-man scholarship limit for this coming season. With that said, Peters could return to the D-1 ranks after the 2020-21 season, and possibly even return to Kentucky.
