Kentucky is a finalist for yet another recruit in the 2020 class.
Five-star center Makur Maker, brother of NBA player Thon Maker, is set to make his college decision next week. The 2020 recruit named four finalist for his decision — Howard, UCLA, Kentucky and Memphis.
Here is Maker’s tweet announcing his decision date:
I’ll be deciding my College destination next week. My final 4 colleges are Howard, UCLA, Kentucky, and Memphis. #MakerMob

Maker had initially submitted his name into the 2020 NBA Draft before pulling his name out to further pursue an opportunity to play in the college ranks. Kentucky and UCLA have been favorites for the five-star big-man since he pulled his name out of the draft, while Howard and Memphis have made pushes for interest from Maker.
With the uncertainty that Wake Forest transfer Olivier Sarr will be granted a waiver by the NCAA to play next season, Maker could be a great alternative for the UK roster if he commits and does not turn pro. Even if Sarr is deemed eligible, it would be hard to see UK Head Coach John Calipari passing up on a five-star recruit that could possibly back the transfer up or even start at the center position.
With a decision soon to come, watch some highlight footage of the five-star center:
