Senior punter Max Duffy and junior offensive tackle Darian Kinnard once again showed up on a preseason recognition list. This time, the two were named preseason All-Americans by Phil Steele’s College Football.
UK punter Max Duffy was named to Steele’s Preseason All-American First-Team after a magical 2019 season. The Aussie native led the nation with 48.10 yards per punt and a 44.55 net average, and at the end of the season took home national awards including being named to many All-American first-teams and winning the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s best punter. He also is Kentucky’s career punting leader with an average of 46.3 yards per punt.
Duffy has now been named a preseason first-team All-American by Steele, Sporting News, Walter Camp and Athlon. He also earned preseason 2020 first-team All-SEC honors from Steele’s magazine.
UK offensive tackle Darian Kinnard was named to Steele’s Preseason All-American Fourth-Team. He earned this honor after playing a key role in the success of the offensive line last season for Kentucky as the starting right tackle in all 13 games. The promising lineman finished with 32 knockdowns and just one penalty in 706 snaps.
Kinnard was also named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-SEC First-Team.
