The preseason honors continue to roll in for UK senior punter Max Duffy.
Earlier today, the Aussie was named to the 2020 Ray Guy Award Watch List, honoring the nation’s best punter. Duffy won the award last season after his dominating performance as the UK punter, and is one of 19 initial candidates chosen to potentially win the honor this year.
In the 2019 season in which Duffy won the Ray Guy Award as the nation’s top football booter, he led the country with 48.10 yards per punt and the Cats overall had a nation-best 44.55 net average for each boot. Those numbers led to the rugby-style punter also being named a first-team All-American by virtually every college football website.
Duffy has been named a 2020 preseason first-team All-American by Phil Steele, Sporting News and Athlon to go along with this latest honor. Already as UK’s career punting leader with a 46.3-yard average, the Aussie is bound to have another great season as a Wildcat.
