Frank Vogel, Head Coach of the 2020 NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers

NBA World Champion Los Angeles Lakers Head Coach, Frank Vogel has some deep Kentucky Basketball roots.  From being a UK Basketball Student-Manager and Assistant Video Coordinator for the 1994-1997, he rose through the coaching trees of Rick Pitino and Jim O’Brien. Getting his first head coaching job with the Indiana Pacers in 2011 and reaching the NBA Eastern Conference Finals in 2012 and 2013 before being beaten by the LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade led Miami Heat. After spending 2016-2018 as head coach of the Orlando Magic, Vogel was made head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers on May 13, 2019. During his first year as Lakers head coach he and his players, including LeBron, Anthony Davis and Rajon Rondo won the 2020 NBA Championship.
