In preparation for the season ahead, Kentucky basketball and the SEC Network are partnering to provide a virtual Pro Day and Big Blue Madness in the upcoming weeks.
The Pro Day will be held in the Joe Craft Center per usual, and televised Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network. Then on Nov. 19, Memorial Coliseum will host Big Blue Madness for the first time since 2004 at 9 p.m. on the same channel. Both events will be virtual due to Coronavirus safety precautions, and will each run to about a 90-minute broadcast.
This scheduling announcement comes as Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio recently reported that UK plans to play Morehead State at Rupp Arena on Nov. 25 as part of the BBN showcase to open the season. Also, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported today that Kentucky will play Kansas on Dec. 1 in Indianapolis for the Champions Classic event. That UK/KU matchup was originally slated to be played on Nov. 10, but because the NCAA decided that college basketball as a whole would be starting Nov. 25, the annual classic had to be postponed.
There was also movement that the game might be played in Lawrence, Kansas, as the Jayhawks would technically be the home team in the game and the Champions Classic was struggling to find a place to play, but that looks to not be the case.
