Kentucky absolutely annihilated South Carolina this afternoon in Rupp Arena, defeating the Gamecocks 92-64 in what was the largest victory in SEC play and most points scored all season.
The Cats were torching the nets, shooting 49% from the field including 13/27 from the three-point line and 13/18 from the free throw line. Freshman guard BJ Boston (21) and grad transfer guard Davion Mintz (20) were the first UK teammates to score in the twenties each in a game this season, as both of them went 7/13 from the floor and hit six threes.
Mintz actually started the game at point guard after having a season-high eight assists in the loss at Ole Miss, and had an excellent overall performance. In the midst of his 6/11 outing from downtown, he hit three triples in a span of 42 seconds..the last one being this heat check:
.@deemintz1 channeling his inner Tayshaun Prince with this heat check.
It was his FIFTH 3 pointer of the the half.

Along with Boston and Mintz, freshman forward Isaiah Jackson had another solid outing after cooling off for a few games, as he finished with 13 points (5/8 from the floor) and 10 rebounds. Grad transfer Olivier Sarr was also efficient, scoring 15 points on 6/10 shooting.
The Cats led for over 36 minutes of game time, and looked to be comfortable throughout. After losing two straight, closing the season off with a victory gives them some much needed momentum going into an SEC Tournament that they have to win in order to be a part of March Madness.
