Davidson Guard Kellan Grady Transfers to Kentucky

UK Athletics

Kentucky basketball just received its first transfer of the offseason — former Davidson guard Kellen Grady. The 6-foot-5 guard comes in with four years of experience as part of the Wildcats, where he put up over 2,000 career points.

Under the NCAA blanket waiver, Grady will be able to play immediately in the 2021-2022 basketball season after graduating from Davidson in May.

“First, I want to express my eternal gratitude for Davidson College, Coach McKillop and his entire staff for giving me the opportunity to represent Davidson for the last four years,” the transfer said. “It has truly been an incredible experience and has made me a better player — and more importantly, a better person.

“With that said, I’m very excited to be a Wildcat again and play for Coach Calipari at the University of Kentucky. It is a tremendous opportunity to compete at the highest level and pursue my dreams. I’m grateful for the opportunity and eager to get to work.”

Grady averaged at least 17.1 points per game in each season at Davidson on 47.2% career shooting, and is a four-time All-A-10 Team Selection. The transfer is a shot-maker that can really elevate Kentucky’s perimeter game.

At this point, the 2021-2022 basketball roster is still in the works. With some incoming freshmen and returning veterans, we however have early signs of what the team will look like.
